Flower Signet Masterclass x The Stores
Phoebe invites you to join her in exploring the wonders of working with botanicals in jewellery, and learn how to carve your own ring wax for casting.
In this unique masterclass, you are invited to bring in your own botanicals or use those provided to make your own botanical heirloom! After understanding the processes involved in this craft, you will be guided in designing and carving your own piece of jewellery. Learn to carve from wax, work with natural materials and even rework old jewels into your design.
You wil recieve a gift box to take home, including your own 'home carving' kit to continue exploring your new skills.
Duration: 2.5hours
Group size: 3-5 people
During the session, you will be walked through each step of crafting a signet. You will experience the joys of sizing ring wax, shaping, carving and forming your design before incoporating botanicals.
After the masterclass, your signet will be cast, sized and polished by Phoebe back in Hatton Garden, and returned to The Shop for collection approximately 3 weeks after.
This masterclass includes a ring carving workhop, a take home gift box, and one complete cast and finished sterling silver ring (approx 5-15grams recycled silver).
The Masterclass
You will design a one-of-a-kind signet with locally foraged flora to uniquely texture the ring wax. After the masterclass, your design will be transformed into a sterling silver cast and finished in Hatton Garden. If you have old hallmarked jewellery, you are welcome to bring in pieces to rework into your design.
In the session:
You will receive two pieces of jewellery wax to carve from, and select your favourite to cast in recycled silver.
Botanicals will be provided for to design into your signet ‘disc’ - though you are invited to bring along your own. You will have the option to cast in these discs in a different colour metal like bronze or gold.
